Can we unfreeze if we see a rattle snake? Sure. How about cobras and anacondas?

So today....has it really just been one day? Possibly, yes. I don't even remember all of it. A lot of singing One Way Jesus. A lot of screaming One Way Jesus. A lot of "oh, crap..they are done already...what now?!?!"

Water slides...scavenger hunts...counselor hunts..more water slides..red rover.. variations of freeze tag(with ridiculous quotes)...and singing/devotionals pretty much sums up our day.

I also forgot to mention our incredibly gross introduction last night. Erica spits ice cream in a pitcher. Kyle spits chocolate syrup in the same pitcher. Daniel spits chewed up graham cracker in said pitcher. Michael spits slobbered on sprinkles in pitcher. Judy spits crunched up m&m's in pitcher. STEPHANIE DRINKS THE ENTIRETY OF PITCHER CONTENTS.

the kids were so grossed out but i feel like it was a pretty great way to start off the week.

we do ask for prayers for daniel. we think he has a staff infection on his wrist. this would mean maybe a doctors visit and a lot of being super careful to not touch kids/being out of commission in other things. so yeah. pray for that please.

but other than that things have been so great and we've had a lot of fun. going off of 3 hours of sleep from last night we can only hope we have run them all around enough today to pass out super soon.

quotes of the day
"what if...what if...the person unfreezing us is going through our legs and we have to pee?"

"oh my gosh, kyle's hair is just so awesome"- all of my lovely cabin ladies

" do you like kyle?- charlie. sure, like a little brother-me. oh, well great, i can be his little wifey-charlie" p.s. charlie is a 11 year old girl who said she would beat down kyle's girlfriend if she met her...so sweet.

"if we're frozen, and then, and then we see a rattle snake or something..can we be unfrozen?- little boy. sure-me well...how about cobras and anacondas??- another little boy"
"may-ree-et-ta" translation marietta

Kolomoki- where you might just date your cousin

First day of Crossfire 2010. complete.

We are in Blakely at Kolomoki Methodist Camp. It's is in the absolute middle of nowhere annnnd we will proudly say we got lost trying to find it. only slightly though.

Everyone, thing, object speaks in a thick country accent and I even heard from a boy the " This one time when I liked my cousin....." I'm sure there will be many more of those to come.

So far we've had to find a ridiculous amount of things to occupy 100-ish kids..ages 5-15. not the easiest thing but definitely fun. a lot of running. playing tag. and listening to 10 year girls talk about how hot they think kyle is (one of our leaders who is playing/singing for worship). We hope their little crush will help engage them more when it's time to sing for Jesus and they will get something out of it! ha.

We did have time to hang out with just the older counselors and they are pretty great. a lot of music talk. one then dared me to eat 8 s'mores..she had no idea that 8 is a typical number of any kind of dessert in my life and soooo of course i won that little game.

So yes. the team is definitely exhausted but excited about this week. we LOVE the kids here and yeah, please just pray for endurance for us. we could use as much energy as God can give us. We also just want to be able to connect to all of the different ages we have here. it's a big range and wisdom on what to speak on that will reach each kid personally is something we are asking for.
